How does the mobile at home service work?
Step 1
Contact me to schedule an initial consultation. My phone number is (540) 353-0008. The initial consultation can be held in person at my office, at your home, or over the phone.
Step 2
Please complete my questionnaire as much as possible prior to our first meeting. You may leave blank any portion of the questionnaire where you need my guidance or have questions of your own.
I generally email the questionnaire to you after the first phone call, but if you prefer, I can mail it to you first class mail using the US Post Office.
Step 3
The initial consultation will be scheduled for 45 minutes. I will (i) review the information you have provided on the questionnaire, (ii) discuss your planning objectives, (iii) discuss whether trust planning is appropriate for children or other beneficiaries, (iv) discuss strategies to avoid or reduce the need for court-supervised probate, and (v) discuss the qualifications for any individuals you wish to name to serve as executors under your wills, or serve as trustees under a revocable trust agreement, or serve as guardians of your minor children; and (vi) discuss whether you need a power of attorney and an advanced medical care directive.
After the outline of an estate plan has been discussed and your questions answered, I generally quote a flat or fixed fee for the estate plan. If the proposed fee is agreeable, I will schedule a time for our next meeting and begin drafting your last will and testament etc.
Step 4
It generally takes 7 to 10 business days to draft the estate documents, but I do have the ability to respond to emergencies and can even execute a last will and testament at a hospital or other medical facility.
Step5
It is my policy that my client sign the last will and testament in my presence with a notary that I will supply to ensure that all legal formalities are observed. Most of the time this is done at the conclusion of the second meeting which is conducted in person at my office or the testator’s home.
